Pet Variations

Some creatures known to GATE scientists can undergo rapid mutation when exposed to elements and stimulus outside the norms of their natural environment. Sometimes, when feeding a pet specific foods you may notice a sparkling effect along with their normal reaction. If you continue feeding that food to your pet, it will mutate into a new form, gaining a new appearance and abilities. Generally, it has been observed that only un-mutated pets can mutate into new forms. Food is not the only way to mutate a pet: In some cases, an enterprising scientist can combine a pet in their inventory with some gadgets at a crafting bench to create a bionically-enhanced new form.
